Your skin starts losing collagen in your mid-20s. Not dramatically at first — it’s gradual. A little less firmness here, slightly slower healing there. By the time you notice it in the mirror, the decline has been going on for years.

Most collagen advice leads straight to supplements or expensive serums. Neither is bad, but both assume you’re missing something you have to buy. What you need:

  • 1 whole nutmeg
  • 2 teaspoons raw honey
  • A small glass jar

What to do:

The night before, place the whole nutmeg in a small jar and pour 2 teaspoons of raw honey over it. Let it soak overnight — at least 8 hours. The honey draws out the volatile oils from the nutmeg and the two compounds mingle as they sit.

In the morning, eat the honey off a spoon. Then take the nutmeg and grate a small amount — about ¼ teaspoon — directly onto your tongue or into warm water. Don’t eat the whole nutmeg. You’re using the grated amount each morning, and the soaked whole nutmeg can be re-used for 3–4 days before you replace it.

Take it on an empty stomach, about 20–30 minutes before breakfast.

Why raw honey and not just water

Raw honey isn’t just a carrier here. It contains hydrogen peroxide, propolis, and its own set of antioxidants that complement nutmeg’s. It also has a mild anti-glycation effect — glycation is the process where sugar molecules attach to collagen fibres and make them stiff and brittle, which is one of the under-discussed reasons skin loses elasticity with age. Using raw honey rather than processed honey matters because processing destroys most of its active compounds.

If you’re diabetic or managing blood sugar, substitute with warm water instead.

What to expect and when

Week 1–2: Probably nothing visible. Your body is absorbing, not yet building.

Week 3–4: Some people notice their skin feels less dry. Sleep quality often improves too because nutmeg has mild sedative properties — consider that a side effect worth having.

Month 2–3: This is where the skin texture changes tend to show up. Not dramatic. More like — your foundation sits differently, your skin looks less tired in photos, the fine lines around your eyes seem softer. It’s cumulative and quiet, not overnight.

If you’re expecting a before/after like a filter switch, this isn’t that. If you want something you can do every morning for three months that genuinely supports your skin from the inside, this is one of the more sensible options I’ve come across.

One thing to be clear about

Nutmeg is safe in culinary amounts. A small daily scrape — ¼ teaspoon of grated nutmeg — is well within that range and has centuries of use behind it in Ayurvedic practice.

What you want to avoid is consuming large amounts at once. More than 1–2 teaspoons of grated nutmeg in a single sitting can cause nausea, dizziness, and in rare cases more serious reactions. The recipe above uses a tiny amount for a reason. Don’t try to speed up results by doubling the dose — it doesn’t work that way, and it’s not worth the risk.

  • 2 chaye ke chammach khalis shehad (Raw honey)
  • Ek chhota sheeshe ka jar

Banane ka Tariqa:
Raat ko jar mein sabut jaiphal rakhen aur is par 2 chammach shehad daal den. Ise kam az kam 8 ghante ke liye chor den taake jaiphal ke tail aur shehad aapas mein mil jayein.

Subah uth kar shehad ko chammach se kha len. Phir us jaiphal ko thora sa kado-kash (grate) karein—taqreeban ek chauthai (1/4) chammach—aur use seedha kha len ya garam pani mein mila kar pi len. Pura jaiphal nahi khana. Ek hi jaiphal ko aap 3-4 din tak istemal kar sakte hain. Ise nihar mun (khali pait) nashte se 20-30 minute pehle len.

Khalis Shehad hi Kyun?
Khalis shehad jaiphal ke asraat ko barha deta hai aur skin ki lachak (elasticity) ko khatam hone se rokta hai.
Agar aap ko sugar (diabetes) hai, to shehad ki jagah garam pani istemal karein.

Kab Tak Nateeja Nazar Aayega?

  • Hafta 1-2: Shayad koi tabdeeli nazar na aaye kyunke body abhi ise jazb kar rahi hogi.
  • Hafta 3-4: Skin ki khushki kam hone lagegi aur neend behtar hogi.

Jaiphal thori miqdar mein bilkul mehfooz hai. Lekin zyada miqdar (1-2 chammach se zyada) lene se chakkar ya matli ho sakti hai. Is liye batayi gayi miqdar (1/4 chammach) se zyada hargiz na len.
